The article focused on the Israeli attack on the Abu al-Zuhur airbase in Syria, which aimed to prevent the reinforcement of Turkish forces at the site. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Shibly explained that Syria is not cooperating with Turkey regarding the military presence at the base and that the activities conducted there were part of rehabilitating the airport to serve the Syrian Air Force, and did not justify the attack. Israel had warned during the preparatory stages of the assault about the presence of Turkish forces, but the attack occurred nonetheless, causing damage to the airport without any human casualties. Shibly emphasized that Syria is seeking to de-escalate the situation and believes that a political solution is the way to achieve stability, stressing that security must be mutual. He also noted ongoing communication with Washington and the relevant countries to prevent further escalation.
