An Israeli airstrike on the police headquarters of the municipalities in central Gaza resulted in the death of at least nine Palestinians, including six police officers, and injured 15 others with varying degrees of injuries. Palestinian sources confirmed that the casualties include the director of the women's police and Faten Al-Sahar, as well as several officers and security personnel. The Israeli army, meanwhile, stated that it targeted leaders and members of Hamas, claiming their involvement in previous attacks, despite ongoing operations even as a ceasefire remains in effect. These attacks represent a clear Israeli escalation against security targets in Gaza, amid Palestinian and international calls to halt the escalation and protect the police force from ongoing targeting.
