The Israeli army has admitted responsibility for firing at a vehicle carrying Palestinian girl Hind Raji and six members of her family during their attempt to escape from the Tal al-Hawa area in Gaza, resulting in their deaths, including the 5-year-old girl. Despite having conducted investigations that lasted for months, human rights organizations and Hind's family questioned the effectiveness of the Israeli internal investigations, calling for an independent international inquiry due to the lack of confidence in Israeli accountability mechanisms. Reports indicate that Israeli investigations often do not lead to meaningful prosecutions or sanctions, prompting calls for transparent and effective accountability for those responsible for crimes against Palestinian civilians.
