U.S. President Donald Trump announced a plan to impose the strongest economic measures and unprecedented isolation on Iran, amid escalating tensions around the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian official Mohammad Moghaddam, Advisor and Assistant to the Supreme Leader, responded to Trump's statements, affirming that the Strait has always been and will remain Iranian, and that its management will be conducted according to Iranian mechanisms. Moghaddam also stated that Iran is prepared to defend the country, describing Trump's threats to bomb Iran as illogical and frivolous. Additionally, Trump’s posts on the "Truth Social" platform depicted the Strait of Hormuz as "new American land," a move that analysts regarded as a reflection of Washington’s attempt to deal with Iran through escalatory means.
