Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Shiblani revealed that Damascus has made it clear to Israel that there is no intention to establish a Turkish military base at the Abu al-Duhur airbase, which Israel bombed. He explained that the site is currently being rehabilitated for use by the Syrian Air Force, with training visits from Turkish personnel. He also denied the presence of Turkish reinforcements and stated that the facility is devoid of Turkish troops, emphasizing that there are no plans to deploy permanent Turkish forces there. Shiblani pointed out that Israel warned Syria before the airstrikes, but Syria considers that Israel has no legitimate justification for the attack. Syria remains open to negotiations to reduce tensions and has made progress in security talks brokered by the United States; however, Israel has backtracked on its commitments. The minister warned that continued Israeli military operations and escalating tension could lead to increased instability.
