UNICEF has warned about the inhumane conditions faced by hundreds of minors who entered the Spanish-occupied Moroccan enclave of Ceuta illegally. They are living on the streets in poor health conditions and urgently need food and medical care. The organization called for identifying these unaccompanied minors and providing them with safe shelter, especially girls who face a high risk of sexual violence. At the same time, Spanish authorities announced the establishment of two centers to accommodate around 1,800 migrants in Ceuta, aiming to ease the humanitarian crisis amid a continued influx of migrants from Morocco and residents' complaints about the worsening security and health conditions in the city.
