Lebanon was handed over a citizen whom Israeli forces had detained and subsequently returned through the International Committee of the Red Cross, amid escalating clashes with Hezbollah. Israel confirmed that it will release five Lebanese nationals who were arrested in southern Lebanon after it was determined that they were not affiliated with armed groups. This comes as part of negotiations to recover the remains of Jewish community leaders who were killed in the 1980s. Additionally, during August negotiations, Lebanon demanded the release of Lebanese prisoners held by Israel. Families of the detainees have documented the names of 33 individuals who have been in custody since late 2024 amid the ongoing escalation between Hezbollah and Israel.
