The article focused on the changes in military leadership within the Houthi group in Yemen. The group carried out sudden reshuffles in the leadership of two military regions (the Third and Seventh), due to growing doubts about the loyalty and effectiveness of some commanders amid escalating government strikes, especially using drone attacks. These changes involved replacing longstanding loyal leaders with those more closely tied to the central leadership, along with a broad reorganization of field commanders on various fronts. Notably, approximately 90% of the subordinate unit commanders hail from Saada Province. These moves are attributed to internal confusion and rising conflicts among different factions within the group, particularly with the rise of the founder's son, Ali Hussein al-Houthi, who holds a significant intelligence role. This has led to internal disagreements and discontent over widespread arrests in Dhamar Province. These developments come amidst intensifying military pressure on the group, as they attempt to reorganize their leadership and security apparatus to confront these challenges.
