The article focused on the escalation of military operations carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi group in the western frontlines of Taiz and the Al Hudaydah coast. They launched extensive ground and missile attacks. During these assaults, the group used hundreds of shells, mortar rounds, and drones, managing to temporarily seize some positions before government forces and the National Resistance reclaimed most of the areas. Additionally, the group launched over 12 ballistic missiles toward civilian and military zones, resulting in injuries and losses among government forces and causing panic among civilians. The air defenses intercepted drone attacks, shooting down three of them, while authorities also responded to ground assaults and infiltration attempts. The Houthis’ escalation reflects an increased frequency of attacks, evolving into a broader pattern that includes widespread missile shelling and intensified ground operations, as part of the group's efforts to compensate for battlefield losses and send messages of escalation linked to regional developments in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.
