The United Nations Mission in Libya announced the submission of the agreement from the Mini Dialogue Committee (4+4) regarding the elections to the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, giving both bodies one month to approve it. The agreement includes a timetable for holding presidential and legislative elections within a maximum of 24 months, along with the reorganization of the National Electoral Commission and the appointment of new heads. The agreement has been welcomed by several local and international parties, while it was rejected by the Head of the Presidential Council and the Head of the High Council of State. This comes as part of the UN efforts to break the political deadlock, unify institutions, and hold elections to resolve Libya’s ongoing political and armed conflicts.
