The article discussed statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he downplayed the significance of the war against Iran, describing it as "secondary" for the United States. Trump affirmed that, despite escalating fighting around the Strait of Hormuz, the United States is still conducting "intermittent strikes" but is not currently engaged in a direct war. He claimed that the U.S. has effectively controlled the Strait of Hormuz and destroyed Iran's military capabilities, and that America's successes include preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Trump's remarks came in the context of downplaying the importance of the conflict with Iran ahead of the midterm elections, emphasizing that the goal is to achieve military successes, not a full-scale war.
