Food prices hit four-year high
In August, global food prices reached their highest level since November 2022, rising by 1.9% compared to the previous month. This increase was driven by growing concerns over the availability of key crops due to adverse weather conditions and tensions related to the Iran conflict and the Black Sea region. The Food and Agriculture Organization reported that their price index stood at 133.3 points, reflecting disruptions in global food supplies and expectations of a negative impact on production and availability in international markets.
