Intensifying military clashes are taking place on the western fronts of Taiz, where the Houthi group (Ansar Allah) carried out a wide-scale attack that resulted in their control over strategic areas such as "Qahban" and "Jabal al-Shish Saeed." This threatens supply lines and increases the risk of mass displacement among the population. The Houthis are employing heavy military equipment in their attempt to suffocate the city of Taiz and cut off communication lines with the western coast. In response, the Yemeni army and resistance are launching counter-operations to recapture lost positions, with aerial intervention by coalition forces. The escalation of shelling on residential neighborhoods and the rising number of internally displaced persons are worsening the humanitarian crisis, and it is expected that these clashes will open a new phase of military escalation in the region.
