Lebanon is facing an educational crisis due to the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah, where more than 340,000 displaced families are still living in schools being used as shelters. About 50 schools have been destroyed or severely damaged. As the start of the new school year on September 15 approaches, displaced families are struggling to find safe places to resume education. The opportunities for normal schooling are diminishing as schools cease to function properly, affecting over 100,000 children, according to the United Nations. International organizations warn that the continuation of the war hampers efforts to restore education and increases the suffering of children, while a political solution remains the only way to end the crisis and restore stability to the education system in Lebanon.
