News has circulated that the Egyptian Ministry of Supply has deleted more than 850,000 citizens from the subsidy card system, which has significantly increased their financial burdens. The removals included individuals who own cars or live in luxury areas, without prior notice or sufficient explanation. As a result, many were forced to purchase subsidized goods such as bread, oil, and sugar from markets at higher prices. Some of those excluded have filed complaints, which have not yet been addressed. Meanwhile, the government allocates billions of pounds for subsidized commodities, and this removal directly affects families that relied on these supports to meet their basic needs.
