A significant military escalation has occurred on the Al-Mokha front between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthis. The Houthis attempted to advance to take control of the strategic Al-Mokha Port and Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The clashes have resulted in the deaths of more than 60 people, including 6 civilians, since Thursday, representing the weakest escalation in the country in years. The Houthis aim to isolate the city of Al-Mokha and move inland toward the coast adjacent to the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a vital maritime passage. Both sides have suffered substantial losses, with government forces conducting strikes against Houthi positions and Saudi-led airstrikes targeting Houthi sites. The fighting continues, with the Houthis controlling strategic highlands, and the escalation poses a threat to navigation in the Red Sea.
