Anak Krakatau affects flights and fishing
The eruption of the Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia caused the suspension of hundreds of flights from Jakarta airport due to the spread of volcanic ash and its impact on local activities such as studying and fishing. No injuries or evacuation orders were reported, but authorities advised residents and visitors to stay at least 3 kilometers away from the volcano and exercise caution, as ash plumes reached heights of up to 15,000 meters in some areas. The airport also suspended flight operations until 9:30 a.m., primarily affecting international flights. Meanwhile, agencies recommended covering water sources and reducing outdoor activities for safety.
