Egypt and Pakistan Urge Resume Iran US Accord
Egypt and Pakistan emphasized the importance of resuming the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed in June between the United States and Iran, aimed at enhancing regional security and stability and preventing the escalation of conflicts. This was stated during a telephone call between the Egyptian Foreign Minister and the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister, during which they exchanged assessments of regional developments and agreed to continue bilateral coordination within the framework of the Quadripartite Mechanism to support efforts to restore calm in the area. At the same time, tensions between Iran and the United States escalated, with the U.S. Navy striking three Iranian vessels and imposing a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, while the US President announced control over the strait and threatened to take military action if necessary.
