Dutch league – Ronald Koeman's son scores twice and sets record
A historic event occurred during a Dutch league match between Telstar and Cambuur, when goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr., the son of Dutch football legend Ronald Koeman, scored two goals in a single game. This made him the first goalkeeper to score twice in a Dutch league match. Despite his team being 2-0 down and having a player sent off in the 22nd minute, Koeman Jr. managed to reduce the deficit by scoring a penalty in the 63rd minute. He then equalized in stoppage time at 90+11 from another penalty he himself saved, resulting in a 2-2 draw. This achievement marked a rare milestone: the first goalkeeper to score a brace in a Dutch league match, an uncommon feat even in major leagues.
