The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Republic of Nauru will open an embassy in Jerusalem tomorrow, Monday, making it the ninth country to establish an embassy in the city. This step comes as part of efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries, with Israeli Foreign Minister describing Nauru as a friendly and supportive nation for Israel on the international stage. Nauru had announced in June its decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem, and it is one of the few countries that officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This comes amid a trend among Pacific island nations to open embassies in the city, including Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
