Riyadh and Washington to invest $22bn

South Korea and the United States have agreed to invest approximately $22.3 billion to build a gas plant in Ennis, Texas, aimed at meeting the increasing energy demand from AI data centers. This project marks South Korea's first investment in the U.S. under the trade agreement signed last year, which focuses on strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries through investments totaling $350 billion from Seoul in exchange for tariff exemptions. The project aims to establish a 6.3 gigawatt gas plant, with South Korea also exploring additional projects such as building a nuclear power plant or a natural gas project in Alaska.
