It has been revealed that Israel has issued a tender to build 2,167 housing units in the E1 project, an settlement initiative aimed at expanding settlements in the West Bank. This project threatens the future establishment of a Palestinian state, as it will deepen the division of the West Bank and isolate it from East Jerusalem, thereby hindering any prospects for an independent Palestinian state. The tender is scheduled to open for applications on October 25, prior to the Israeli parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, the international community and Palestinian organizations oppose this expansion, considering it a violation of international law and a obstacle to peace efforts.
