Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova explained that the events in the Ukrainian city of Bucha have been described as "a global fabricated media campaign and a bloody provocation," and that it is an organized operation on an international scale, not a staged incident by Kyiv, aimed at disrupting negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. She confirmed that the images claimed by Ukrainian forces to show Russian troops committing crimes are actually a media exploitation, and that Moscow will continue its efforts to obtain a list of the true victims from the United Nations. She considered that the purpose of the provocation was to destroy the prospects for negotiations and to tarnish Russia's image.
