Libya has witnessed an escalation in military activity following reports of a Russian naval convoy arriving at the port of Tobruk, carrying armored vehicles and logistical equipment. There are Russian forces distributed across six air bases in the east and south of the country, maintaining ongoing military cooperation with the Libyan National Army led by Khalifa Haftar. Although some sources and observers have dismissed the extent of Russian military expansion, analyses and media reports have indicated that Moscow is bolstering its military presence in the region through training activities, arms supplies, and direct connections with Libyan military leaders, with the aim of expanding its influence and enhancing the capabilities of local forces.
