Bonu echoes Ben Gvir on Gaza
U2's lead singer Bono launched a fierce attack on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, following his remarks about Gaza residents, which included accusations of calls for targeted assassinations and references to genocide. Bono compared Ben-Gvir's speech to that of Heinrich Himmler, one of the Nazi leaders and architects of the Holocaust. He criticized Ben-Gvir's continued presence in his position and expressed disapproval of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's steadfast support for him. Ben-Gvir responded quickly to Bono's criticism, accusing him of hypocrisy, stating his rejection of sympathy for what he called the architects of terror, and emphasizing that Israel still needs to protect itself.
