Houthi strikes damage 80% of Taiz healthcare
The Yemeni Ministry of Health report warns of a significant deterioration in the healthcare situation in Taiz Governorate due to escalating Houthi attacks, which have targeted health facilities and residential areas, resulting in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as the destruction of hospitals and healthcare infrastructure. The city of Tubah, along with hospitals, villages, and districts in Taiz, as well as Jabal Habashi and Sabir Al-Mawadim, have been subjected to bombing, leading to disruptions in healthcare services and worsening shortages of medicines and medical equipment, especially with the closure of the Hajja Al-Habid road, which is the vital artery supplying the city. The worsening situation has reduced hospitals’ capacity to support victims and patients, causing further human losses and displacement. The ministry warns of the risk of complete suspension of health services if the escalation continues, emphasizing that ongoing attacks disrupt essential supplies and significantly threaten public health in Taiz.
