Egypt Foreign Minister on Ethiopia and crises
Ethiopia decided to declare an Egyptian diplomat as a "persona non grata" and demanded his departure within 48 hours, following accusations against Egypt of supporting rebels against the Ethiopian government. Egypt responded by giving an Ethiopian diplomat a similar deadline. The Egyptian Foreign Minister confirmed that Egypt is not interfering in Ethiopia's internal affairs and that the Ethiopian statements aim to distract from their internal crises, at a time when tensions over the Nile water issue and regional interventions are escalating.
