Egypt Gold Sector Asks for Incentives
The Gold and Rare Metals Division of the Egyptian Industrial Chambers has called on the government to provide incentives to boost manufacturing and export efforts, following a 44% decline in exports during the first seven months of 2026. The division emphasized that supporting the gold jewelry industry can significantly increase added value by expanding manufacturing instead of relying on trading raw materials or finished products. This approach would enhance competitiveness and open new markets. They also urged for improvements to the production environment, facilitation of customs clearance procedures, simplification of export procedures, support for companies participating in international exhibitions, as well as the provision of accessible financing mechanisms and workforce skills development to enhance product quality and increase exports.
