Supreme Court judge warns about future
Justice Samuel Alito, a conservative member of the U.S. Supreme Court, expressed concern over the rising rhetoric of extremism and the political pressure facing the Court, especially after its controversial decisions such as overturning the right to abortion and granting broad immunity to former President Donald Trump. He emphasized that coordinated efforts to threaten and influence the Court are taking place, and that public confidence in the Court has fallen to its lowest levels in decades, with only 34% approval according to a Gallup poll. He also addressed the leak of the abortion ruling, noting that he believes he has an idea of who was responsible, but lacks strong evidence to support it.
