Yemen conflict intensifies with missile interception and Taiz progress
Reports indicate that the Arab coalition in Yemen intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Khamis Mushait in Saudi Arabia, amidst escalating military escalation in Yemen. Additionally, Yemeni forces announced the recapture of several strategic sites in Taiz, including the highest mountain peak, and the killing of over 100 Houthis as part of a military campaign aimed at restoring state institutions and achieving significant field progress. This is part of Operation "Fajr Yemen," which began in September 2023. The operations have also resulted in injuries and ongoing escalation since the war started in 2014, with intensified fighting and the Houthis controlling vital areas in southwestern provinces.
