Gulf Cup 27 Mohamed Al-Owais' Journey
Egyptian soccer goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais won the Gulf 27 Championship title after maintaining a clean sheet throughout the tournament. His role focused solely on goalkeeping following Nawaf Al-Aqidi's injury, and he played a crucial part in Saudi Arabia's fourth victory in the history of the Gulf Cup. He is the third goalkeeper to win a tournament without conceding a single goal, successfully saving penalties and securing his performance in knockout matches. This achievement comes amid a sporting career that began with academic studies in physics before transitioning to professional football. Al-Owais is considered one of the most prominent goalkeepers in Gulf history, having also received the award for the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
