Ukraine war impacts wheat storage
The article discusses the impact of the Ukraine war on wheat and grain exports. Since July, the closure of the Odessa ports has hindered the shipping of large quantities of wheat, fodder, and corn, resulting in the destruction of many ships and significantly restricting export operations. Russia employs various measures to protect its farmers, such as limiting the export of fertilizers and fuel. Meanwhile, occupied regions like the Crimean Peninsula suffer from water shortages and weak control over roads and supply routes. Additionally, U.S. forces have launched operations targeting ships linked to Russia to disrupt grain exports, leading to the accumulation of enormous amounts of wheat and posing risks to global food supply security.
