Israel must set date for displaced returns
The Israeli Supreme Court issued an order to the Ministry of Defense and the military to submit a timetable for the return of Palestinians displaced from northern the West Bank, after tens of thousands were displaced as a result of operations targeting refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nuur Shams in 2025, under the pretext that these areas represent hotspots of terrorist activity. Although the court stated that security conditions have not yet matured for the resettlement of the population, it demanded a specific date for their return. In response, Finance Minister Bezelel Smotrich strongly criticized the court, calling on the army not to cooperate with it, and considered its decisions a threat to Israel's security.
