Floods Disrupt Marathon Participants
A sudden storm in Utah caused floods that disrupted the "MOAB 240" ultramarathon race covering 240 miles. The floods washed out the roads leading to the race course, forcing about 70 runners and volunteers to evacuate and seek shelter at relief centers, where they spent the night awaiting further instructions. Ultimately, the organizers decided to cancel the remaining race events to ensure the safety of all participants.
