Transitional Justice chief denies final draft
The article discusses the update and development of the transitional justice draft law in Syria. The head of the National Commission for Transitional Justice emphasized that the draft is still under discussion and has not yet been submitted to the General Secretariat of the Presidency or the Parliament. The law focuses on important issues such as truth-seeking, institutional reform, and the prosecution of serious violations. It faces challenges related to its overall formulation and the lack of clear implementation mechanisms, which threaten its effectiveness in protecting victims' rights and preventing the recurrence of violations. Experts confirm that the success of the law depends on clearly defined responsibilities, legal guarantees for fair trials, and flexibility in amendments to ensure the independence of institutions and attain comprehensive justice, despite criticisms regarding delays.
