France Football moves Ballon d'Or to London
France Football magazine is preparing to hold the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony in London for the first time in the award's history, on October 26, to mark the 70th anniversary of its launch in 1956. The event will take place at the London Palladium theater, organized in cooperation with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), while the magazine continues to manage the voting system and select the winners. In its 70th edition, a list of 30 top football stars is competing for the award, which is granted based on individual performances and team achievements during the 2025-2026 season. The voting results will remain undisclosed until the moment of the announcement at the ceremony. The awards also serve as a recognition of excellence across various categories of the sport, with a special emphasis on the historical significance of this event—being the first time it is held outside Paris and celebrating the 70th anniversary of the prize.
