Haaland Sets Record as City Top Scorer
Norwegian Erling Haaland successfully scored a brace for Manchester City in a UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, despite the team's 4-2 defeat. This achievement allowed him to surpass Sergio Agüero as the club’s top scorer in the competition. Haaland scored his first goal in the 53rd minute and his second in the 75th minute, bringing his total to 38 goals in 41 matches wearing the City shirt, overtaking Agüero who scored 36 goals in 64 matches. Additionally, Haaland became one of the few players to reach this tally in the fewest appearances in Champions League history, having scored in 60 matches, and moved up to seventh place on the tournament’s all-time top scorer list. Despite the loss, Haaland's achievement marks a personal milestone and underscores his significant impact on the team in European competitions.
