Video - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood in Syria
An article discusses the future of the "Muslim Brotherhood" organization in Syria, turning into a test for the new leadership amid calls to decriminalize membership in the group and to dissolve it. There are warnings that such steps could impact national unity and youth participation. Analyses indicate that previous experiences of the group in Egypt and Sudan have contributed to shaping a negative image of it among public opinion, alongside an increased hostile stance from Western countries, especially the United States and the European Union, viewing it as a threat to stability. Additionally, Syrian authorities have expressed positions that reflect a desire to end the group’s presence, through messages calling for the organization’s dissolution and the appointment of a figure associated with the group in an attempt to ease tensions. Meanwhile, regional and international challenges persist, requiring internal stability and political flexibility.
