Egyptian uncovers ancient statues, including Ramses II one
During an archaeological expedition in the village of Bahbit El-Hagar, in the Gharbia Governorate of Egypt, an archaeological stone block was discovered by a man named Khaled Khalil. This discovery attracted the attention of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. A delegation from the ministry, led by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathi, visited the site to uncover the remains of large royal statues, including one of Pharaoh Ramses II, as well as a granite block inscribed with hieroglyphic carvings. The dimensions suggest that the original statue could stand approximately 8.5 meters tall, and there are indications that more archaeological treasures may be found. Khaled Khalil and his wife were awarded certificates of appreciation and a pilgrimage trip in recognition of his honesty. The site is considered of significant historical importance, containing ancient Egyptian artifacts, with expectations of further archaeological discoveries.
