Tennis Federation Updates Reforms and Prizes
The Association of Professional Tennis Players has announced a wide-ranging package of reforms aimed at improving the season's balance and increasing prize money, with total player compensation set to rise to $350 million by 2028. The reforms include increasing prize allocations, restructuring the ranking system, and developing the tournament schedule to lessen pressure on players and enhance the sustainability of doubles competitions, along with the addition of a new tournament in Saudi Arabia as part of the Masters system. These adjustments aim to improve playing conditions, provide greater support and planning for players, and reduce the impact of the packed calendar on their health and flexibility.
