Iraqi government to fill new roles
The new understandings in Iraq have focused on completing the formation of the government by filling the vacant ministerial positions and creating new ministries, including one for digital economy and governance, another for minorities, as well as a Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Additionally, four deputy prime ministers have been nominated from different political blocs, with a confirmation that these deputies will not receive salaries or financial allowances. Their executive powers and responsibilities within the government have not yet been clarified. These arrangements come as part of the distribution of positions among political factions, amid ongoing disagreements over key ministries such as Planning and Migration. This reflects the challenges in defining the roles of the new institutions and the clarity of their responsibilities within the government work.
