Kalas: US-Europe-Ukrainian ties are challenging
The EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, stated that cooperation between the Union and the United States regarding Ukraine is currently very difficult. She expressed regret over Trump's decision to strike a deal with Putin. She confirmed that the Union is working on a new package of sanctions to increase pressure on Russia, with the aim of ending the war and preventing it from escalating into other conflicts. She also emphasized the importance of the "Starlink" service for Ukraine, pointing out that Europe is unable to provide an immediate alternative, and that Russian escalation continues. Expectations are that this winter will be harsh, with no signs of Russia ceasing the war or reaching a ceasefire.
