Global efforts to prevent Lebanon's escalation
The article discusses Lebanon's diplomatic efforts to ensure its neutrality amid potential regional escalation, especially given concerns over Hezbollah's interventions and a strong Israeli response. The communications between Lebanon and the United States have focused on Lebanon's request for Washington to pressure Israel to cease its attacks on the south and on direct military coordination between the Lebanese and Israeli armies, while maintaining Lebanon's refusal to conduct direct inspections of model areas to avoid escalation. Additionally, the two sides discussed the future presence of UNIFIL forces after their mission ends, amid deteriorating security conditions and regional tensions, with fears of a possible escalation before the Israeli elections.
