IMF urges tighter rules for non-bank finance
The International Monetary Fund warned of risks threatening global economic stability, particularly those related to non-bank financial institutions, cyber attacks, and fraud. The Fund's Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, called on regulatory authorities to enhance their capabilities in monitoring these threats, with a focus on gaining a comprehensive understanding of risks outside the traditional banking sector. She also emphasized the importance of central banks continuing to maintain price stability amidst inflationary pressures and declining financial resources, which threaten the resilience of global economies.
