Russia strikes Ukrainian steel works
Russia launched a wide-scale attack overnight targeting industrial and electrical facilities in Ukraine, including the country's largest steel plant in Kryvyi Rih, owned by ArcelorMittal. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the strikes also affected power facilities in Zhytomyr and other steel factories in Zaporizhzhia, as part of an extensive campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure aimed at exhausting the country's resources. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia has intensified its attacks on the energy grid in an attempt to destroy Ukraine's ability to repair damaged facilities.
