Legal Experts Discuss Mursa's Trial and Extradition
The author discusses the case of the arrest of Meraj Oral, known as Ali Kyali, and reviews the legal options for trying him in connection with his involvement in massacres in the cities of Baniyas and Bsheira in 2013, as well as his participation in the 2013 Reyhanli explosions in Turkey. Experts clarify that jurisdiction depends on the location of the crime and the nationality of the offender, with both Syria and Turkey having the right to prosecute him based on the nature and impact of the crimes. They emphasize the importance of coordination between the two countries through judicial agreements such as the Adana Agreement, and propose solutions like alternating trials or forming joint investigation committees to ensure justice in the trial of the individual holding Turkish nationality and residing in Syria.
