AstraZeneca Uses AI for Drug Development
AstraZeneca announced its collaboration with Oracle to utilize artificial intelligence and real-world data to enhance drug development processes, particularly in the fields of cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory diseases, and rare conditions. This partnership aims to improve patient matching for clinical trials and safety monitoring, with a focus on accelerating research and reducing costs. Currently, the initiative is limited to a hypertension project in Abu Dhabi in partnership with M42. AstraZeneca aims to increase its revenue to over $80 billion by 2030. The company faces challenges in patient recruitment and failures in previous protocols, and it aspires to reduce trial durations and minimize errors to improve overall efficiency.
