Netanyahu: Erdoğan Aims to Reinstate Ottoman Control in Jerusalem
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel does not seek conflict with Turkey, but accused Turkey of attempting to escalate tensions with Israel, noting that Turkey is striving to restore the Ottoman Empire and control over Jerusalem. He stated that Israel considers itself a sovereign Jewish state with strength and conviction, and rejects submission to an extremist axis led by Turkey. This comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and Turkey following mutual attacks and hostile statements from both sides regarding the Palestinian issue and its impact on the region.
