Kats Eyes Broader Israel-Lebanon Operations
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stressed that Israel will not withdraw from the security zone in Lebanon until Hezbollah is fully disarmed and the threats facing northern Israel are removed. Katz warned that any attack or shooting from Hezbollah or any Iranian assault will be met with a strong Israeli response, including expanding military operations to encompass additional areas such as Nabatieh and the Litani. He pointed out that the Israeli army has established a broad security zone covering 700 square kilometers along the Lebanese border, destroyed tunnels and sites deemed terrorist by Israel, and emphasized that the current area is free of civilians and military infrastructure. He also stated that Israel is prepared to undertake extensive military measures if tensions escalate.
