Iran offers solution to Yemen crisis
CNN reported that Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, expressed Tehran's readiness to mediate between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels in Yemen to end the conflict, but he confirmed that no response has been received from either side. This comes amid escalating military operations between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis following recent attacks by the latter on Saudi airports, which has been described as an escalation of the Yemen conflict, with Iran continuing to support the Houthis with weapons and training. Araqchi also pointed out that tensions in the Red Sea, particularly through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, stem from the Houthis’ attempts to break the Saudi blockade on Yemen, and that resolving the crisis requires addressing the root causes of the conflict.
